The wild ride of Nukitashi is finally heading to TV screens next summer. Announced in 2024 and produced by Passione (the studio behind Mieruko-chan and Interspecies Reviewer), the anime adaptation of Qruppo’s adult visual novel will premiere in July 2025. The first promotional video – released via the official website in early June 2025 – confirms the July 2025 debut, teasing a satirical, NSFW setting of a tropical island where every desire is legal.

Staff and Production

Nukitashi’s production team combines familiar names from quirky anime hits. Director Nobuyoshi Nagayama (who worked on Vampire Dormitory and Love Flops) leads the project. Series composition and script are handled by Kenta Ihara (Mieruko-chan, Uncle from Another World). Character designs come from Kumata (pseudonym of Yuki Matsuguma, known from Girlfriend, Girlfriend). Notably, the original game’s creators are deeply involved: Qruppo writers Naoto Kurahone and Yuu Kamichika supervise the scripts, and even the VN’s mascot “Hamedori-kun” (an in-joke name for one of the authors) is listed as general series supervisor. This hands-on approach suggests the anime will stay true to the source’s wild spirit.

The soundtrack team is stacked too, with composers Hakushaku Ebikare, Sasa Ikeki, Umigame, and Kashiko scoring the series. Animation production is by Studio Passione, marking a high-profile adult VN adaptation for the studio. Passione is known for tackling risque or edgy shows (they famously animated Interspecies Reviewers as well as horror-comedy Mieruko-chan), so Nukitashi fits their wheelhouse. In interviews, Passione staff have noted Qruppo’s full cooperation on the project (even joking that Hamedori-kun is “general supervisor”, per a July 2024 announcement tweet), which bodes well for balancing fanservice with plot. Fans can take that as a hint the series won’t just be skin-deep – it aims to capture the VN’s mix of comedy, drama, and action.

Lastly, Nukitashi’s production committee includes big industry players. Kadokawa is backing the anime, and even Yostar (the game publisher for Azur Lane) is involved. AT-X’s participation hints the show will air uncut on that premium anime channel. All told, the staff setup implies Nukitashi will be a high-quality adaptation of the cult game, with talented folks both behind the scenes and behind the mic.
