 Call of the Night Season 2 Trailer Unveils Creepy Nuts’ Return for Opening Theme

Call of the Night Season 2 has dropped its first full trailer, and it comes complete with a brand-new opening theme by Creepy Nuts. With the premiere set for July on Fuji TV’s Noitamina block, the teaser offers a tantalising glimpse at what’s in store.

Creepy Nuts—DJ Matsunaga and rapper R-Shitei—first made Call of the Night their own with the Season 1 themes “堕天” and “よふかしのうた”. For Season 2, the duo delivers a fresh opening song (title pending), designed to capture the thrill and danger of life after dark. In a recent interview, they explained:

“陽が落ちてからじゃ無いと生きられないヤツがいます。…‘夜そのもの’みたいな漫画に寄り添って、また深い夜を感じてもらえる曲を作りました。”
“There are those who can only truly live once the sun sets… We wanted to craft a song that walks hand-in-hand with a story that is the night itself, letting listeners feel its depth all over again.”

What to Expect This July

  • Premiere: July 2025 on Fuji TV Noitamina (23:30 JST), with AT-X carrying an uncut late-night stream.

  • International Stream: Crunchyroll will simulcast episodes shortly after their Japanese airing.

  • Returning Staff & Cast: Director Tomoyuki Itamura and scriptwriter Michiko Yokote head back to helm the series, while Gen Satō (Kou) and Sora Amamiya (Nazuna) reprise their roles alongside Yumiri Hanamori, Haruka Tomatsu, Eri Kitamura, and more.

  • New Faces: Rina Satō debuts as Kiku Hoshimi, a mysterious vampire with her own hidden agenda.
