The Apothecary Diaries has swiftly become one of this year’s most celebrated anime, earning an impressive 13 nominations at the 9th Crunchyroll Anime Awards, including the prestigious Anime of the Year category. Critics and fans alike have lauded the series for its intricate, mystery-driven narrative and the charismatic performance of Aoi Yūki as the shrewd protagonist, Maomao .

This year, The Apothecary Diaries is one of only nine series to achieve double-digit nominations, joining the ranks of heavy-hitting franchises like Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Dan Da Dan, and Solo Levelling (Wikipedia). Fans were able to vote once per day on Crunchyroll’s website until the deadline of April 14, 2025.
The winners will be revealed during a live ceremony on May 25, 2025, held at the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa in Tokyo (teenvogue.com). Whether The Apothecary Diaries clinches the Anime of the Year title or secures multiple wins across its various categories, it has already cemented its legacy as one of 2024’s most compelling and artful anime offerings.
